When Was the Beginning?

Genesis 1:1  “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

God was there in the beginning. The beginning was when God made everything.

Most Christians believe this. Except to differ that God used the Theory of Evolution or the Big Bang in order to make the universe.

If you look at the Bible this could simply not happen. A few months ago we talked about how God was the standard and His word is always true. Christians who believe that God used the Theory of Evolution or the Big Bang, simply use science as their standard instead of God and His word.

When was the beginning? The beginning was about 6000 years ago. How did I figure that out? Genealogies. I don’t have time to go into the details in the newsletter, but if you want to see how I got there just contact me. Many Christians will disagree with my “young earth” view on the world. BUT if you look at what the Bible says, you cannot come to any other conclusions. First of all, people use a couple different ways of fitting “millions of years” into the Bible. They either fit it in between days, called “the gap theory”, fit in before day 4, or say that the “days” in Genesis weren’t literal “24 hour” days. Or at least those are popular arguments for this belief.

First of all, if you tried to fit millions of years in between each day, life would simply not survive. God did something that is really comical. Look at the days and what was created on each day (Genesis 1:3-31).

Day 1– Light, Day 2– Earth, Day 3– Grass, plants, trees, Day 4– Sun, moon and stars, Day 5– Birds and sea life, Day 6– land animals and humans

If you added millions of years between each day, then the plants, trees and such would not survive without the sun for millions of years!! God has a sense of humor for sure.

The other argument is to say since the sun and moon weren’t created till the 4th day, you couldn’t have literal 24 hour days before then. Even that argument is false, all you need, to have a 24 hour day, is a light source and a rotating sphere.

The last argument is that the days in Genesis weren’t literal 24 hour days. They will say that the word for day “yom” can mean a period of time. God defines day as a 24 hour day, when He said that an evening and a morning were the 1st day (Genesis 1:5). Also another reason it was a 24 hour day, is because an ordinal number was placed in front of it. 1st day, 2nd day etc.

You cannot add millions of years to the Bible or say that God used the Theory of Evolution and   The Big Bang. Scripture doesn’t align with these ideas at all.

You will encounter non believers and believers who will be adamant that the Theory of Evolution is true. You need answers and you can find them in God’s word. He is the standard and what He says is true.

Lauren Davies

My name is Lauren Norlene Davies, I am 18 years old and I live with my parents and younger brother. I am constantly reminded how short life is and how important it is to live for the Lord and do all things for His glory and honor!

I was saved when I was young and since then, I have continued to grow in my relationship with the Lord. God has given me the passion to disciple the younger girls He places in my life.

Why am I writing newsletters and blog posts? A few years ago, God placed on my heart the importance of impacting and helping those around me. If I can make a difference in someone’s life by writing or providing impactful and meaningful stories, then I am delighted and honored to do so. God is the most important person to talk, think and write about, so that is the reason I love to share about Him. I hope that through these newsletters you learn the same thing. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, a take them off of ourselves.

Music has also been a very big part of my life. I began playing the violin in 2009 and started playing the piano a few years later. Since 2020, I have taught the violin and I love to be able to play music for the Lord and glorify Him through music!

I also love to cook, bake, crochet, read books, watch movies, organize and spend time with friends. I am an extrovert, leader and love to work with people!

This fall I am teaching violin, helping with my grandparents' ministry, (www.penielranch.org), and serving in my church, Emmanuel Baptist Church of Snohomish.

My prayer is that you will be encouraged in your faith by this blog! All glory be to God!
