Every one of us, as young ladies struggle with “being beautiful”. We want to look really pretty, so that we will be admired and liked. We definitely don’t want to be known as ugly or normal. The problem is that no matter how hard we try, we cannot be ‘beautiful enough. Even if we arrange our hair, use make up or nail polish, put an unlimited amount of products on our face and hair, wear the most stylish clothes, we can’t become completely beautiful. Even if others tell us we are, we will still doubt it. Ultimately true beauty comes from the heart. The world might say, “You are not beautiful,” but yet you will be. If you have a clean heart, a glow will shine from you and it will be super attractive.
How do we get this beautiful heart? We get our beautiful heart from God, if we ask Him. We have to give Him our ugly hearts and desires, we can’t have both. At any time, we are able to take back our ugly heart. You are probably wondering why we’d want to take our ugly heart back, if we want a beautiful heart. When we think thoughts that are not good, and don’t pass the Philippians 4:8 test, if we decide to rebel against our parents’ wishes and do things that are ungodly, we are taking back our ugly hearts.
How do we keep our beautiful hearts and not give them up? Read the Bible and pray to God. Take time to focus on what a good heart looks like so that you can easily spot what an ugly heart is. Whenever an ugly thought comes into your head, pray that the Lord will take it away. It will be a constant struggle, but don’t give up on it! Good things are not easily won, but are fought for with hard perseverance. You will never regret it, I’m certain! Proverbs 31:30, says that “Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” When we seek the favor of others we get turned away from what really matters. We start focusing on what others think instead of what God thinks. “What God knows about me is indefinitely more important than what others think about me.” I don’t know who said that but it is really important to remember. God knows everything about us, His opinion is the one opinion we should care about. Psalms 119:2 says we should seek the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind.. If we seek the Lord with our whole heart, our hearts will become beautiful. The rewards we will receive by seeking the Lord will be endless. Psalms 37:4 says “Delight thyself in the Lord and He shall give thee the desires of thy heart.” If we delight in the Lord, we will want what He wants and that way we can get the desires of hearts. It will be so rewarding to receive the desire of our hearts! All we do is delight in the Lord. Delighting in the Lord means to seek Him and learn more about Him. If you want to keep a beautiful heart and get rid of the ugly one, delight in the Lord. When you delight in Him there is no room for ugly thoughts :) Pray constantly to the Lord and ask Him to help you give your heart to Him, and also seek Him with your whole heart. I hope you will want a beautiful heart and do all you can with the Lord’s strength to keep out the ugly one. Then you’ll have true beauty that shines from you like the sun shines from the sky. Keep yourself pure and blameless before God, and you will be rewarded!
