Psalms 63

63 OGod, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, myflesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Do we seek the Lord?Does our soul thirst and our flesh long for Him? May this New Year be one of usseeking God with everything that is in us. We definitely live in a dry andthirsty land that tries to be satisfied in everything other than Jesus. Let’s besatisfied in Jesus today.

To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen theein the sanctuary.

His power and glory….His power and glory. He is powerful. He can do anything and everything Hewills. Do we glorify Him? Do we call upon His power?

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, mylips shall praise thee.

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up myhands in thy name.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness;and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

Praise Him! Praise Him! Be satisfied!! Praise Him withour words and with our hands. His lovingkindness is better than life. What aprofound thing. Do we yearn more for His lovingkindness then our life?

When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on theein the night watches.

Oh- this is convicting to remember him when I go tosleep, throughout the night, in the morning. Is that what I am thinking about? Or is it someone else or what I did orneed to do? Lord, may we meditate and remember you all the time.

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in theshadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

God is our help. When we need Him, He is there. If weabide in His will we are under the shadow of His wings and we shall be safe. While we are safe then we can rejoice and thank Him for what He has done.

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right handupholdeth me.

Do we follow hard after God? It should be. Is ourdesire to draw closer to Him? It should be. When you feel like you are falling,or that you can hold any longer, remember that His right hand upholds you.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall gointo the lower parts of the earth.

10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portionfor foxes.

God keeps our souls, those who are saved, from thosewho wish to destroy it. They shall fall. I am glad to be held in the palm ofHis hand!

11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one thatsweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall bestopped.

We shall rejoice in the Lord. What a promise- themouths of them that speak lies shall be stopped! How I long for that day whenlies shall be cast away and the truth revealed.

Lauren Davies

My name is Lauren Norlene Davies, I am 18 years old and I live with my parents and younger brother. I am constantly reminded how short life is and how important it is to live for the Lord and do all things for His glory and honor!

I was saved when I was young and since then, I have continued to grow in my relationship with the Lord. God has given me the passion to disciple the younger girls He places in my life.

Why am I writing newsletters and blog posts? A few years ago, God placed on my heart the importance of impacting and helping those around me. If I can make a difference in someone’s life by writing or providing impactful and meaningful stories, then I am delighted and honored to do so. God is the most important person to talk, think and write about, so that is the reason I love to share about Him. I hope that through these newsletters you learn the same thing. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, a take them off of ourselves.

Music has also been a very big part of my life. I began playing the violin in 2009 and started playing the piano a few years later. Since 2020, I have taught the violin and I love to be able to play music for the Lord and glorify Him through music!

I also love to cook, bake, crochet, read books, watch movies, organize and spend time with friends. I am an extrovert, leader and love to work with people!

This fall I am teaching violin, helping with my grandparents' ministry, (www.penielranch.org), and serving in my church, Emmanuel Baptist Church of Snohomish.

My prayer is that you will be encouraged in your faith by this blog! All glory be to God!
